Since I've moved to a new appartment this spring I understood how I love cosiness. Unfortunately our repair works are still in progress, so I can only deam about all that lovely little things that make our homes beautiful and warm.

Ahhhh... Friday... It's almost here! How we love this day!! The only thing we love more than FriDAY is Friday NIGHT !!

The Hamsa is an ancient Middle Eastern and North Afrikan palm-shaped amulet. It's used as a sign of protection in many societies throughout history.
'Hamsa' means 'five' in Arabic symbolizing charity, faith, prayer, pilgrimage and fasting. In some religions it is also a protective sign. Since the Hamsa is considered a gift of love it makes the perfect gift.

Person of the Week: Sasha and her amazing WarmCeramics shop!

Hi all! Today we are going to talk about ceramics! But it won't be usual and boring bowls, vases and plates. We'll show you amazing hand carved ornaments on ceramic items and unique natural colors!

"I'm a big fan of ALL handmade ceramic things and ware. When I hold ceramic bowl or a mug in my hands I feel the spirit of nature and that special mood the artist had when created this thing, I feel the clay. And this feeling is really breathtaking. This is how I can connect to nature!" - says our artist Elena.

This week we found a very special artist on Etsy! Her name is Sasha, she lives in St. Petersburg (Russia). Sasha's Etsy shop is called WarmCeramics.

 "I honestly tried to become a geologist. But I always knew that it wasn't the thing I should do. And one day I met a ceramic artist who teached me to work with clay. It happened 3,5 year ago. And since then I've been working with clay every day and I enjoy every moment of making ceramic items! - Sasha told us - I adore to carve different motives and ornaments! Almost all things I've made were processed with ancient Russian method - milk baking".

Ancient artists in Russia used milk baking as there were no glazes. After baking in milk ceramic ware become waterproof and get warm brown colors. 

Milk baking is 100% eco-friendly: Sasha bakes ware on 1000'C, then she soaks it in milk for several minutes, dries it and then bakes again. During the 2nd baking milk burns down and fills all micro pores.

Sasha's ceramic mugs and bowls are very handwarm and cozy!

NEWS! Bright jewelry box and stylish wooden letter!

Hi all!
Today we would like to show you our new items for home decor!
The first one is a tiny jewelry box "Pearl"! It's very cute and not large, so you may put your wedding rings in it!
Size: height - 2 '' (5 cm), length - 3.2 '' (8 cm), width - 3.2 '' (8 cm)
Inner dimentions: height (without cover) - 1.2 '' (3 cm), length - 2.6 '' (6.5 cm), width - 2.6 '' (6.5 cm)
This jewelry box is made of wood and waspainted with acrylic paints.

NEW! Wooden plates!

Hi all! How are you? We hope that excellent!
Today we would like to show you our new branch of hand painted items for home decor. We already have ceramic plates in our Etsy shop and we decided to paint some wooden ones!
So now we have 2 wooden plates painted by hand. The 1st one has 30 cm in diameter and is blue and violet, the 2nd one has 20 cm and is brown and golden.

We asked the owner of this shop to tell us about herself and her creative work.

"Hi all! I'm Viktoria and I'm the owner of UltroViolet shop on Etsy. I'm 36 and I'm a happy mother of 2 kids (16 and 4 years old). I live in Germany and it's my 2nd emigration (I've been living in Israel for 10 years before my family moved). New country, baby birth, and maternity leave encouraged me to start searching for my life-work. I tried myself in various types of handmade works and finally chose decoupage and painting.

I'm always in search of new ideas and materials. It takes a lot of time! But I really love this non-stop work as I meet interesting and creative people from other countries. I enjoy the communication as I enjoy trying smth new. My relatives, friends and even my children help me to develop my shop and this is so great!"
